Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using SettleBook, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App. Continued use of the App following any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

SettleBook is a personal finance management application that allows you to:

• Track debts owed to banks and to friends & family, including recurring EMIs with payment days and one-time dues, with full payment history
• Record and categorize daily expenses across 20 categories, with monthly views, filters and analytics
• Monitor recurring subscription payments across 52+ predefined platforms and custom entries, on monthly, quarterly or yearly billing cycles
• Import and parse bank account statements (PDF format) locally on your device from 32 supported banks — 25 Indian and 7 international
• Receive smart reminders: debt & EMI alerts, subscription renewal alerts, daily expense nudges, and weekly / monthly money digests
• View spending analytics, charts and insights
• Use the App in 23 languages and 46 supported currencies, with light, dark and system themes

The App is available as a free version with optional premium features available through a one-time in-app purchase.

• Premium access is available through a one-time purchase via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, priced in your local currency by the store.
• There are no recurring subscription fees; the purchase grants lifetime access to current and future premium features.
• Purchases can be restored on a new device via 'Restore Purchases', subject to the app store's account rules.

The App can parse PDF account statements from the following banks, entirely on your device:

🇮🇳 Indian banks (25): HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, IDBI Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Federal Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, UCO Bank, RBL Bank, South Indian Bank, Karnataka Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Bandhan Bank, AU Small Finance Bank.
🌍 International banks (7): Chase Bank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Capital One, USAA, SoFi.

By using statement import, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Parsing happens locally on your device; statements and their passwords are never uploaded, stored or shared by SettleBook.
• Parsing accuracy is not guaranteed — bank statement formats change, and extracted transactions may be incomplete or incorrect. You must review every transaction before saving.
• Only debit (spending) transactions are imported; certain rows such as declined transactions and reversals are skipped by design.
• Duplicate detection is best-effort, based on date, amount and reference number.
• The list of supported banks may change at any time without notice.
• You may only import statements of accounts you are lawfully entitled to access.
• SettleBook is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank. Bank names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used solely to identify statement formats.

By using the App, you agree to:

• Enter accurate financial data for your own personal use
• Verify all data imported from bank statements for accuracy before saving
• Safeguard your device and control access to the App
• Remember your security PIN if you enable the premium App Lock (there is no recovery mechanism — a forgotten PIN requires reinstalling the App, resulting in data loss)
• Supervise minors using the App and their financial data entry
• Not use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify or tamper with the App

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

• All financial data is stored locally on your device — we have no access to it
• We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics for app improvement (anonymized data only)
• The App may receive over-the-air code patches to deliver fixes faster; these contain no personal data
• No cloud backup is provided — data loss may occur if you uninstall the App or lose your device

SettleBook is a personal finance tracking tool only. The App does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the App are your sole responsibility. We recommend consulting qualified financial professionals for financial advice.

The App provides multi-currency support (46 currencies) for display purposes only:

• Currency symbols, placement and number formatting are generated using built-in software libraries and are intended for visual identification only.
• The App does not provide real-time exchange rates, currency conversion, or any financial data services. Amounts are never converted between currencies.
• Changing your currency changes formatting only — existing amounts are not recalculated.

The App is offered in 23 languages (including right-to-left layout for Arabic):

• Translations are provided for convenience. In case of any conflict or ambiguity between the English version of these Terms (or in-app text) and a translation, the English version prevails.
• Language and currency settings are independent of each other and stored only on your device.

All content, features and functionality of SettleBook — including the design, graphics, code and user interface — are owned by SettleBook and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works based on the App without prior written consent.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
• We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from device failure, App uninstallation or forgotten security PINs.
• We are not liable for any financial losses or damages resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the App.
• We do not warrant that bank statement parsing will be 100% accurate or compatible with every statement format of the supported Indian and international banks.
• We are not liable for any financial decisions, errors or losses resulting from incorrect parsing of bank statements, currency formatting, translations, or data entry.
• All processing of PDFs happens on your device; we are not responsible for the security of your PDF files in your device's local storage.
• Reminders and notifications depend on your device's operating system and settings; we are not liable for missed payments or charges resulting from undelivered notifications.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the premium purchase, if any.

SettleBook has no age restriction and is available to users of all ages. No account registration or age verification is required. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors’ use of the App. In-app purchases require adult authorization through the respective app store.

You may stop using SettleBook at any time by uninstalling the App. We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any features at any time without prior notice. Upon uninstallation, all locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.

We may revise these Terms from time to time — for example when we add banks, languages, currencies or features. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
