01Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SettleBook, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. Continued use of the App following any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

02Description of Service

SettleBook is a personal finance management application that allows users to:

• Track debts owed to banks and friends
• Record and categorize daily expenses
• Monitor recurring subscription payments
• View spending analytics and insights
• Import and parse bank account statements (PDF format) locally
• Use multi-currency support

The App is available as a free version with optional premium features available through a one-time in-app purchase.

04In-App Purchases & Payments

• Premium access is available through a one-time purchase via Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
• Strict No-Refund Policy: All sales are final. The one-time premium purchase is non-refundable once the transaction is completed.
• App Store Policies: While SettleBook does not offer refunds, the Google Play Store or Apple App Store may have their own refund policies. We do not control their refund decisions and will not provide manual refunds.
• There are no recurring subscription fees; the purchase is for lifetime access to the current and future premium features.

05User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

• Enter accurate financial data for your own personal use
• Verify all data imported from bank statements for accuracy before saving
• Safeguard your device and control access to the App
• Remember your security PIN if you enable the premium PIN lock feature (there is no recovery mechanism - a forgotten PIN requires reinstalling the App, resulting in data loss)
• Supervise minors using the App and their financial data entry
• Not use the App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or tamper with the App

06Data Storage & Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data. Key points:

• All financial data is stored locally on your device
• We do not have access to your personal financial information
• We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics for app improvement (anonymized data only)
• No cloud backup is provided - data loss may occur if you uninstall the App or lose your device

07No Financial Advice

SettleBook is a personal finance tracking tool only. The App does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the App are your sole responsibility. We recommend consulting qualified financial professionals for financial advice.

08Currency Symbols

The App provides multi-currency support for UI display purposes only. Currency symbols and formatting are generated using built-in software libraries and are intended for visual identification. The App does not provide real-time currency exchange rates or financial conversion services.

09Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of SettleBook, including but not limited to the design, graphics, code, and user interface are owned by Settle Book and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without prior written consent.

10Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
• We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from device failure, App uninstallation, or forgotten security PINs.
• We are not liable for any financial losses or damages resulting from the use of or inability to use the App.
• We do not warrant that bank statement parsing will be 100% accurate or compatible with all bank PDF formats.
• We are not liable for any financial decisions, errors, or losses resulting from incorrect parsing of bank statements or data entry.
• All processing of PDFs happens on your device; we are not responsible for the security of your PDF files once they are on your local storage.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the premium purchase, if any.

11Age Requirements

SettleBook has no age restriction and is available to users of all ages. No account registration or age verification is required. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors' use of the App. In-app purchases require adult authorization through the respective app store.

12Termination

You may stop using SettleBook at any time by uninstalling the App. We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any features at any time without prior notice. Upon termination or uninstallation, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted from your device.

13Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
